Ivonbrook Care Home in Darley Bridge has recently expanded its home with the addition of a purpose-built close care centre designed around their more high-dependency residents.
The expansions come in response to increased demand in residential spaces for elderly persons suffering from cognitive impairments such as dementia.

The Close Care Centre is the new face of care. My aim with the Close Care Centre is to make every resident feel as valued and independent as possible.
We’ve worked for months to craft a reconstructed living environment which will allow our residents who suffer from cognitive impairments to function as they normally would – to feel needed and part of a community.
Also, we’re going to make our residents feel more a part of their own care decisions all while providing them with a safe environment in which their needs can be met.
“I have worked in care for 17 years and I still love my job. Being such a large part of someone’s life is a privilege, and making that chapter of their lives as enjoyable as possible is a joy like no other.
We’re providing our residents with the means to maintain mentally stimulated as well as physically active “ an element overlooked in some homes.
Ivonbrooks Close Care Centre also features a Sensory Room, a tailored part of the Centre that offers textured, scented and visually engaging items to ensure that residents’ sensory needs are always met.
Residents are also invited to take part in activities located around their living space to encourage interaction and continued use of their motor skills.
