Ivonbrook’s Dementia Care Centre
Our Dementia Care Centre is an environment tailored to support residents with impairments such as Dementia and support the needs that come with it.
We have created a home-from-home environment with mentally stimulating activities (dementia ability), allowing us to provide our more dependent residents with a sense of purpose and belonging within the Ivonbrook community. The centre has a large outdoor, safe environment with an enclosed pond and beautiful seating area.
We understand that it can be a difficult choice to move into Supported Living, but we aim to ensure residents feel safe and valued in the next chapter of their lives.
What’s in the Dementia Care Centre?
Our Sensory Room encourages residents of the Dementia Care Centre to engage different senses such as sight, sound, touch and smell.
The Dementia Care Centre’s lounge features beautiful bright décor and incorporates hidden tasks throughout to engage residents and encourage both physical and mental activity.
We also have a dining area equipped with accessible appliances such as:
- Hydration Station
- Breakfast Bar
- Fridge
- Serving Counter
- Snack Bar
The dining area is cleverly crafted to allow residents to maintain a sense of independence without having to compromise on safety. All of the appliances within reach of the residents have been deemed safe and necessary risk assessments have been evaluated.
The lounge area is supervised by the applicable ratio of staff at all times.
