Derbyshire-based Darley Hall Care Home has continued to prove its effectiveness by achieving a Good rating in all categories following an inspection by the Ofsted of healthcare – the Care Quality Commission (CQC).Â
The inspector conducted a thorough assessment of the Care Home which offers non-nursing support for elderly residents living with cognitive or physical impairments.
CQC examines care providers across five areas – safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership. Darley Hall Care Home achieved a Good rating across all five areas.
While rated a Good in other categories, Derbyshire Care Homes’ last inspection in 2017 saw the home awarded a requires Improvement rating in leadership. Since coming under new management, this has been upgraded to a Good rating and the home has also benefitted from many renovations.
CQC praised the staff at the home in their latest report conducted this year: People’s privacy and dignity was respected at all times.
Staff knew people well and everyone felt like they were family. People were encouraged to maintain their own schedules and to pursue activities and interests individual to them.
The staff supported people to remain as independent as possible.
Claire Wright, Operations Manager, commented on the achievement: We are thrilled to have achieved GOOD in all five categories.
Since joining the team, we have all worked tirelessly to mould the homes into our ideal vision of care.
We are undergoing strict policy enforcement, and renovations and we are examining every area of the care we provide to identify any changes or improvements that are possible.
I am so glad that CQC have recognised the effort and sacrifices our team has made.
As to our next inspection and achieving Outstanding.
Following the achievement, 100% of Ivonbrook Properties homes now boast the coveted Good rating.
